Meursault started as the recording project of Neil Pennycook. The Scottish band has added members and layers of instruments with each of its previous releases. Something for the Weakened, the band’s third full-length album, also shows a step up in production from the lo-fi recordings on the earlier albums. With lush arrangements, Pennycook’s engaging music becomes even more captivating.
