Milk Maid is the band of Martin Cohen, who used to be the bassist for Nine Black Alps. Cohen recorded this debut Milk Maid album in his Manchester apartment while Nine Black Alps was one a break between albums. He has since left the previous band to focus on this new project. Cohen chunks through the brittle sounding dirge of these lo-fi recordings. The album is full of pop songs that vary from anthemic garage rock to divisive ballads, all put together with a little bit of a punk edge.
