The consistently changing lineup of anarcho-punk band The Ex is back with their first album with new singer Arnold de Boer. Keeping an experimental but appealing sound, there is a renewed energy from the addition of de Boer, who sounds like Eddie Argos, of Art Brut, without the pomposity.

Sam Beam’s sound continues to progress from his initial sparse folk albums. Kiss Each Other Clean is a layered pop album that has a mellow and funky psychedelic sound. The melodies are obviously Iron & Wine while the eclectic pop signifies a new, but still enticing, stage in Sam Beam’s career.
