The Damned were one of the first bands of the late ‘70s English punk scene. The band has broken up and reunited a few times in their career. On this album the band switches between garage punk, gothic rock, psychedelic pop, and varying forms of music that come across as an energized form of classic rock.

Soy Un Caballo is the band of a Belgian couple. Auriele Muller and Thomas Van Cottom create an album that is tactful and elusive. These songs are folk based, but uniquely layered with the assistance of a stable of musicians that includes Will Oldham and Sean O’Hagan.

The Welcome Wagon is a married duo that performs gospel music. But this is not the style of religious music that has been predominantly a subset of soul music. Produced by Sufjan Stevens, Welcome To The Welcome Wagon shares a similar folk-based chamber pop sound for which Stevens has become popular.
