It’s December. The new releases lists will be getting shorter as everyone compiles their Best of the Year lists. Here is The Wheel’s Still In Spin’s suggested new release from the short list of releases.
The Decemberists – Always The Bridesmaid, Volume III

The third and final volume of The Decemberists’ singles series is released today. The first volume included “Valerie Plame.” Volume 2 has a great cover of The Velvet Underground’s “I’m Sticking With You.” This final installment includes two songs, “Record Year For Rainfall” and “Raincoat Song.” These songs have minimalist accompaniments, but appealing melodies, especially the “Raincoat Song.”
